| ABSTRACT AND GOALS|
The main goal of the programme is to design systems for safety in vehicles, including:
· An appropriate data collection methodology, analysis and reconstruction of accidents.
· Pre-regulatory studies that define safety specifications.
· Development of computational tools and / or test to verify those requirements.
· Testing devices (including different configuration dummies) and design appropriate systems to improve passive and/or active safety of the vehicles.
The activities are aimed at improving vehicle safety at various key points which are still unresolved today:
Users who are leasted protected and Persons with reduced mobility (PRMs). The R&D priority lines proposed to improve the PRMs transport, match
those with the lines reported by the R&D White book to Service of People with Disabilities.
In addition to the technological interest, the programme has a social interest. On the other hand will have a valuable economic dimension,
bringing added value through R&D at our companies and their ability to compete, export etc.

· Aid for driving in case of severe disabilities.
· Mobility and communication interfaces assisted by aid in different vehicles.
| EQUIPMENT|
INSIA have two specifical laboratories dedicated to vehicle safety research:
· LASP Passive Safety laboratory.
· LAVYC VEHICLE AND AUTOMOTIVE COMPONENTS LABORATORY
Both laboratories have technical and materials facilities that allow to
carry out several test.
LAVYC
· Mechanical Tests: Vehicle Roll Behaviour Tests, Fatigue and Mechanical Strength Tests, Vibration Tests. Tyre Tests.
· Electrical Components Tests.
· Environmental Tests.
LASP
· Sled test facility. Impact pendulum. Crash test dummies. Crash test dummy calibration fixtures. High speed cameras.
Data acquisition. Software for signal and image processing 3D measuring equipment.
Antonio de Nebrija University has a unit of rapid prototyping. The unit allows generating 3D models of physical parts from the virtual
models generated in the DAC. It+s provides services to companies.
