Training Services

This Division has three clearly differentiated tasks:


MASTER IN AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERING
 
The Master’s in Automobile Engineering, was created by the Governing Body of Madrid Technical University on June 29, 1991, its ultimate goal being to provide specific training for standard and higher degree graduates with and without experience in the automobile industry.
 
The Master’s began to be taught on the 1991-92 Academic Course and since then it has been running continuously up to the present. It is made up of 60 credits which are the equivalent of 600 class hors that can be done over one or two courses, 5 of these credits being for the End-of-Master’s project, a mandatory requirement for obtaining the Degree.
 
The Technical University awards an official degree to students after completing and passing the End-of-Master’s Project.
 
Since initiating the first Master’s in 1991 approximately 300 students have taken part up to present and 140 Master’s Degrees in Automobile Engineering have been awarded.
The course is taught by the UPM and other University lecturers and by working professionals from the Automobile Industry Sector, their forming half of the staff of approximately 70 teachers.

Formula SAE Project (UPM Racing)


The SAE formula is an international engineering competition between universities throughout the world. It consists in designing, manufacturing and competing with a formula-type vehicle in accordance with the guidelines set out by the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers).
 

DOCUMENTATION and DISSEMINATION

In charge of maintaining INSIA’s Documentation Centre, this section provides the Institute’s researchers with any help they need in bibliographic searches, classifying and internally distributing the different documentation (such as, applications for subsidies and congresses), unifying and maintaining contact data bases, etc.

The main aim is to facilitate spreading information about the activities undertaken by the Institute, To be precise, this line of activity takes charge of the following tasks:

Organising talks, congresses, conferences, visits, etc, that take place in INSIA.

Management Support for institutional relations.

Contacts with journalists to promote coverage by the media and keep a press file.
